Questions & Answers:

What is static correction?

Static correction is a mild electrical pulse, similar to the sensation you feel when you walk across carpet and touch a doorknob. It doesn't hurt but it is startling, and is a proven safe and effective behavior deterrent for pets. When first using the product, keep your pet on a leash. What if I need to cover more area?

Additional Indoor Barriers are available. You can set them throughout your home: near the trash can, blocking doorways, etc., creating off-limits areas for your pet. Call our customer care center or visit to order additional barriers.

My dog is wearing the collar. He hears the beep but continues to cross over the boundary line with no static correction. What should I do?

Check the fit of the collar on your pet. The collar may be too loose for your pet to feel the static correction. Adjust the collar so that it fits snugly; you should be able to fit a finger between the contact point and his skin. The contact points must touch the dog's skin.

Important Information

For the comfort and safety of your pet, check the fit of your pet's collar, the receiver collar batteries, and tightness of the contact point connected to the collar frequently. The Guide for this product describes proper collar maintenance. Just as humans can develop bed sores from remaining in one spot for too long, your pet can have a similar experience from prolonged wearing of a receiver collar. Do not allow your pet to wear the collar for more than 12 consecutive hours in a 24-hour period; this is for your pet's comfort. If any skin irritation is observed, discontinue the use of the collar for a few days. If the condition persists beyond 48 hours, see your veterinarian.
